HP Cartridge Recycling Programs

You have been running copies, hot off the press, on your HP printer and that time has come to let go of the old cartridges and bring in the new. What you may not know is it is harmful to the environment, adding pollutants and non-biodegradable waste every time ink cartridges are tossed in the garbage. Before you throw that HP cartridge into the trash, look into an HP recycling program.

It may take a little more time and effort, but it will be worth it in the long run as the environment is protected and conserved. Often information is found on the package itself or online on how to mail used cartridges back to the company.

It doesn’t end there. Take a trip to most any office supply store and you may find a bin to drop your used cartridges. You might even have a participating employer with a bin set up in the office; you could consider starting a program yourself in your neighborhood or at your place of employment. In addition to office supply stores, many large department stores offer a place to drop used cartridges, along with used cellular phones which are also harmful to the environment with their electronic components. Large grocery stores may also offer a drop off point for used cartridges of any brand.

You also have one other option to proper disposal of used ink cartridges. You can make your ink cartridges last and add fewer waste products to the world by using ink refill kits. It will save you money if you do it properly or you can bring your cartridges to a refill station in office supply stores and some department stores. Be savvy, think about your impact on the world, and make one small step to a better place every time you think twice and recycle those used cartridges.
